Cross-Disciplinary Learning Co-Creation Workshop

At the end of the first semester, the Cross-Disciplinary Learning Co-Creation Workshop helps students brainstorm and define their project directions with the guidance of faculty members. This process allows students to gradually plan individualized learning roadmaps, overturning the traditional structure of course learning and returning autonomy to the students.

On December 5th and 11th, the workshops focused on design thinking and clarifying insights, guiding students step by step to refine their project development paths. Five professors, including Director Kai-Lin Hsu, collaborated in the process: Min-Huang Ho, Yu-You Lin, Yi-Chun Tang, and Chun-Tse Hsieh. Each professor contributed from their professional fields, providing knowledge scaffolding to help students develop personalized learning plans. Through tailored learning designs, the workshops allowed students to showcase their talents and work towards their aspirations, opening up new horizons for their future.

This workshop was grounded in the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and integrated with the program’s core curriculum. Using methods such as design thinking, creative brainstorming, and group discussions, students generated six project concepts:

1. Augmented Reality Academy

2. Recycled Water Circulation System

3. Life Detector & Heartbeat Analysis Tool

4. Smart and Safe Campus

5. Roommate Matching System

6. On-Campus Secondhand Trading Platform

Taking the "Recycled Water Circulation System" as an example, the project addresses sustainable water resource issues, aiming to mitigate Taiwan's water scarcity challenges caused by climate change.

Students will use these projects to map out future course plans. Faculty members serve as mentors, ensuring that students pay attention to course connections and relevance to their themes. Based on their respective project directions, students will develop tailored course structures and embark on personalized knowledge exploration journeys.

Director Kai-Lin Hsu emphasized that this initiative marks a new milestone for university elective courses. Students have more opportunities to transcend traditional departmental boundaries, gain exposure to diverse professional perspectives, and broaden their horizons.
